The Director is responsible for:

 

1. Curriculum

  • Assist and promote the integration technology that supports the district's curriculum objectives.

2. Staff Development

  • Design, implement and/or provide technology-related staff development.

3. Software

  • Acquire and/or assist in the acquisition and implementation of district software (both instructional and administrative).
  • Provide first line support.
  • Maintain and assure that the district has current and appropriate software licenses
  • Configure and install new software.
  • Re-configure and install existing software as dictated by district needs.

4. Hardware

  • Acquire and/or assist in the acquisition and implementation of district's computer hardware (both instructional and administrative).
  • Configure and install new hardware.
  • Re-configure and install existing hardware as dictated by district needs.
  • Provide first line support.

5. Networking

  • Act as the district network administrator for student and administrative LANs/WANs.
  • Act as the district's webmaster
  • Acquire, assist in the acquisition, install, maintain, and design networks and network segments for the district.
  • Oversee installation and/or install and maintain network software, hardware and cabling
  • Monitor student/faculty use of LANs, WANs and Internet
  • Maintain faculty and student fair use agreements

6. Budgeting

  • Create, submit and manage the district's technology budget.

7. Grants

  • Write and/or organized technology grant writing initiatives.
  • Manage and implement technology grants.
  • Files e-rate.

8. Tech Plans

  • Create and implement the district's technology plan.

9. Professional Development

  • Maintain up-to-date personal knowledge base on instructional technologies and their use in K-12 education

10. Other duties as assigned – may teach courses at high school level to students.

11. Assist selected staff in specific training in increase district capabilities to provide technology support.
