Telecommunication / Internet Related Services:

The following eligible items and services are open for bid under the FCC's Schools and Libraries Universal Service Program:

1. Conventional local/long distance telephone service -POTS - Land Lines - up to 75 lines across all buildings*
2. Cellular telephone service - up to 35 cellular phones.*
3. Dedicated digital telecommunication service (T-1 or better) between Somonauk and Illinois Century Network.*
4. Dark Fiber service costs from DATA consortium (of which we are already a part) to connect to Internet.*
5. Northern Illinois University fiber service cost for Internet, DATA fiber network and access to IBOP projects.*
6. Cable Broadband Internet Service - 10mb or higher bandwidth (higher bandwidths will be considered).*

*These items are to maintain existing service and/or have a current contract.

Bids may be on any one, or all of the above items.  Bidders must be willing to submit to USAC / SLD E-Rate rules and regulations in regard to bidding, reimbursement, contracting and contract fulfillment.

Note: Somonauk Community Unit School District complies with all state (including the Illinois State Board of Education) and federal regulations concerning the purchasing of telecommunication and instructional technology related hardware, software, and services.
