Talk about your "fixer upper"! The FFA petting zoo building received a major make-over, actually just a whole new building, and it is beautiful! SLS (Somonauk, Leland, Sandwich) FFA shares this building with other FFA chapters from Newark, HBR, and Serena. During fair week, the students and advisors volunteer endless hours to showcase and care for the animals, while answering questions of fair-goers, and also run a farmer's market. The new barn has several pens for animals, room for demonstrations, and spacious walkways.
A special shout out to Ms Dayna Anderson and Mrs Jenny Wold, teamwork at its finest during The Sandwich Fair, teamwork managing classroom instruction, teamwork with our students, teamwork with other districts, teamwork wearing a million hats, teamwork like Chip and Joanna!
