SCHOOL COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Career Exploration & Resources

There are numerous opportunities for students to learn about the many career and other next level options available to them following high school. Students will be exposed to these opportunities through whole class and small group field trips, seminar day activities, college and military recruiter visits, military events, college/university presenters, invitations to local career fairs and seminars, mock interviewing with local career leaders, and more. The school counselor will share these opportunities with students and classes as they arise throughout the school year. Many events are grade or class specific while others are open to all students. Additionally, any student can elect to enroll at IVVC during their junior and/or senior year of high school. These programs provide relevant instruction by industry professionals, and completion of many of the programs lead to dual and articulated college credit and/or industry credentialing or certification.
