FRESHMAN MENTOR

The Freshmen Mentoring Program assigns students 10th grade or higher to work with a group of incoming freshmen. The goal of the program is to help ease the transition between middle school and high school. To do this, mentors meet freshmen at the Orientation Night prior to the start of school, and continue to meet with the freshmen weekly. On mentoring days freshmen participate in activities and discussions designed to open conversations about time-management, planning for the future, setting goals, team building and communication. Mentoring also gives freshmen the opportunity to ask an experienced student their questions ranging from the expectations of different teachers to final exams and GPA.
