JRW first graders created a drawing of a creature or object and sent it over to the high school digital art class for collaboration. Digital art students created replicas of the first graders' drawings using Photoshop tools. The high school digital art students were so excited to see their reactions. Great job everyone!

2024 Prom Raffle Ticket Sale Going Fast....
The Junior Class is wrapping up selling tickets this week for the raffle baskets. Two more baskets have come through this past week. A Lake Michigan Chicago Cruise from Navy Pier for two, and a custom made shirt, cup, and pen combo, from our own Somonauk Staff, Val Lockwood!
Make sure to look them all up and get your tickets this week! Tickets are $1 for 1 Ticket.

The 2024 Prom Spirit Week Raffle is beginning this week! Shown here are baskets graciously donated from Somonauk families and local businesses! Tickets will be $1 each. Anyone will be able to participate in the raffle. Funds raised will go towards reducing the overall cost of the Senior Class Trip. During Spring Break, SHS junior Maggie McGuire went on a tour of the Aurora Police Department. During her time there, she was able to meet with officers and learn about the different roles and assignments in the Crisis Intervention Unit, Community Oriented Policing, Canine, Investigations, Dispatch, CIIC, and Evidence.

On March 7, a group of students attended the Automotive Open House at Waubonsee Community College in partnership with VALEES. The event provided students with the opportunity to explore career programs, tour the facility, and speak to industry leaders and college faculty in the fields of Automotive Technology, Auto Body, Automation Technology, Computer Aided Design & Drafting and HVAC.
Congratulations are in order to Juniors Caden Adams and Dante Frausto. They competed in the Illinois Esports State Championship and took 8th place from all competing high schools in the state of Illinois, and won 1st place in the small schools class!
Kudos to the SLS FFA! A great assembly kicking off FFA Week here at Somonauk HS. Great student body involvement, and way to go Freshman Class on the WIN!
