Fran Kenyon, a devoted fifth-grade Math teacher, brings her enthusiasm and expertise to the classroom with a background that includes graduating from Deerfield High School and Northern Illinois University. Her dream job would be to become a professional photographer for the Chicago Cubs, a role that perfectly aligns with her deep love for sports. She is a proud mom to two remarkable young men, Jacob and Steven. Welcome back, Mrs Kenyon.

Anne Russman, our new Biology teacher, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom. A proud graduate of Sycamore High School, she pursued her Bachelor's degree in Biology at Framingham State University. Her dedication to education is further evidenced by her advanced studies at Aurora University and NLU. One of the highlights of her academic journey was studying abroad in Kenya during a summer, which enriched her perspective on both science and the world.

Christy Skelton, a dedicated 5th-grade ELA teacher, brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role. A graduate of Sandwich High School and Olivet Nazarene University. As a military child who grew up moving across various parts of the U.S., Christy has a rich and diverse background that enhances her teaching approach. If she weren’t teaching, she would pursue her dream of becoming a marine biologist. Welcome back, Mrs. Skelton!

Welcome Jordan Morahn! Jordan, a proud graduate of Geneva High School and Eastern Illinois University, has embraced the whirlwind of life with incredible enthusiasm. She will be teaching special education at JRW. Within three years, Jordan and her husband welcomed three energetic boys: John, Jace, and Jude. Known for their adventurous approach to cooking, Jordan has never repeated the same dinner recipe twice, always exploring new culinary horizons with passion.

Anna Poplawski welcome to #432. Joining the Somonauk School District as a first-year first-grade teacher, Anna brings a fresh perspective and boundless enthusiasm to the classroom. A proud graduate of Aurora Central Catholic and Northern Illinois University, she is thrilled to start her teaching journey with the youngest learners. Outside of school, her passion for travel is evident, as she’s gearing up for an exciting summer adventure that will take her to six different countries. At home, she shares her life with Willow, a charming sheepadoodle.

Welcome Carly Faivre, a first-grade teacher embarking on her inaugural year in education, she brings a vibrant energy and a wealth of experiences to her classroom. A graduate of Indian Creek High School and Illinois State University, she has a deep-seated passion for learning and teaching. Her love for travel is evident from her enriching 10-week stint student-teaching abroad in England, where she lived with a host family and immersed herself in a new culture.

Welcome to #432 Katie Brunoehler, another terrific addition to the first-grade teaching team at Somonauk, is a proud alumna of both her high school and Illinois State University. With a vibrant passion for teaching and a knack for coaching competitive cheer, she brings enthusiasm and energy to her classroom. In her spare time, Katie enjoys unwinding on beach vacations.

From Earlville, Jessica Glover has recently joined the Somonauk education community teaching Pre- K. With three delightful daughters by her side, she balances her professional life with a vibrant family life. At home, their 20-year-old gecko, Stella, reigns supreme as a beloved member of the household. Her love for reading is well-known, often finding solace in the pages of a good book. Beyond her classroom, she and her family are deeply involved in wildlife rescue, dedicating their time and care to fostering small animals and reptiles in need.

JRW first graders created a drawing of a creature or object and sent it over to the high school digital art class for collaboration. Digital art students created replicas of the first graders' drawings using Photoshop tools. The high school digital art students were so excited to see their reactions. Great job everyone!

Online registration is now open! Returning students should register for the 2024-25 school year as soon as possible. No payment needs to be made at this time. Fees are due August 1, 2024. Online credit card payments will include a service fee. Payments in cash or check can be paid in the school office. The registration process takes less than 5 minutes.
