The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team defeated the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals by a score of 29 - 19, to solidify third place in the Junior 10 Tournament. Defense was the key last night stifling HBR's offense. Solid defensive performances were contributed by Caden Hamer, Brady Andrews, Landon Johnson and Alex Barnes. Barnes led the team in rebounds with nine, on the night. Johnson led all scoring with fourteen points including four three pointers. Andrews had seven points, three assists and five rebounds. Kaden Geers cleared the defensive boards with six rebounds and Jeremy Romnski pulled down four rebounds. Tristan Reed tied for the team lead with three assists. A solid team effort throughout the evening solidified the win and an overall record of 16 - 6. It was a pleasure to coach these gentlemen throughout the season. Also, a big congratulations to the Cheerleaders for an undefeated season.

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team lost to Leland by a score of 31 - 25. The Bobcats had 22 turnovers on the night and only 21 shots. Landon Johnson led the Bobcats in scoring with sixteen points including 3 three pointers. Kaden Geers led the team in rebounds with five. Brady Andrews dished out five assists and led the team in steals with three. The Bobcats will face Hinckley-Big Rock in the 3rd Place game at 4:30, in the Vintage Gym, at Serena this afternoon.

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team defeated the Serena Huskers in Quarterfinal action by a score of 42 - 23. Landon Johnson led all scores with seventeen points. Johnson also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals, on the night. Kaden Geers had eleven points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Brady Andrews had six points and three rebounds. Jeremy Rominski had four points and three rebounds. Alex Barnes led the Bobcats in rebounds with six. The Bobcats will now play number two ranked Leland on Wednesday, at 5:30 in the semi-finals.

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team placed third out of eight in the Al Stegman Tournament in Serena, on Friday and Saturday. The Bobcats defeated Milton Pope by a score of 32 - 16, on Friday to move into the Winners Bracket. On Saturday, the Bobcats lost to Mendota 31 - 22, in the semi-finals. In the third place game, the Bobcats defeated Serena by the score of 29 - 18. In the three games of the tournament the Bobcats were led by Landon Johnson who had thirty-eight points. Brady Andrews in the three games had ten steals. Kaden Geers within the three games had a total of twenty-four rebounds. Geers, Andrews and Jeremy Rominski had five assists each, combined within the tournament. The Bobcats will be playing in the first round of the Junior Ten Tournament on Monday versus the host school Serena at 6:30 PM tonight. Currently, the Bobcats are 14 -5 on the season.

8th Grade BB Tourney
The Eighth Grade Boys Basketball Team lost to the undefeated Indian Creek Timberwolves last night by a score of 40 - 23. Tristan Reed led the Bobcats with thirteen points including 3 three pointers, while pulling down five rebounds. Landon Johnson chipped in with eight points including four for four from the free throw line. Kaden Geers led the Bobcats with ten rebounds, while Jeremy Rominksi and Alex Barnes combined for ten rebounds. Brady Andrews led the Bobcats in assists and steals with three each. Turnovers and backdoor cuts hurt the Bobcats throughout the night. The Bobcats were able to pull within three late in the third quarter but weren't able to finish strong, in the fourth quarter.

Last night the 7th grade boys basketball team dropped their final game to Indian Creek, 30-20. Connor Knutson had 13 points, Wyatt Hannibal had 5 points and Carson Harper had 2 points. Kellan Howell did a great job of moving the ball offensively while Evan Cappi and James Havlicek gave great effort on the defensive end. Coach Poplawski would like to thank the boys for a great season and extend a special thank you to team managers Malorie Wernsman and Shaynee King. Please make sure you return your jersey to coach as soon as possible.

Early Dismissal
The Eighth Grade Boys Basketball beat the Serena Huskers by a score of 35 - 9. The Bobcats held the Huskers to no points in the second half. The Bobcats were led by Landon Johnson who had ten points, four steals, four rebounds and four assists. Brady Andrews had nine points, six steals and five assists. Tristan Reed had eight points. Kaden Geers pulled down five rebounds and Jeremy Rominski led the Bobcats in rebounds with seven along with two steals. Owen Hopkins and Dane Lenhardt also had two steals apiece. The Bobcats travel to Indian Creek on Wednesday to avenge a 40 - 37 loss, from last month.

Last night the 7th grade boys basketball team fell to Serena by a final score of 33-18. However, after being outscored 26-6 in the first half, the Bobcats outscored Serena in the second half 12-7. Connor Knutson, Wyatt Hannibal, Carson Harper and Kellan Howell all scored while Eythan Fruit, Evan Cappi and James Havlicek brought in rebounds for the Bobcats. Porter Snider made his season debut after recovering from a wrist injury and played great defense. The Bobcats last game is this Wednesday at Indian Creek.

The 8th Gr. Boys Basketball team defeated the Earlville Raiders last Monday 46 - 15. Tristan Reed had his best game of the year with ten points, seven assists, seven rebounds, three steals and an amazing reverse layup, just before halftime. Landon Johnson nearly outscored Earlville alone with fourteen points and five rebounds. Brady Andrews had a solid nine points and three assists, on the night. Owen Hopkins chipped in with six points along with five rebounds and Kaden Geers solidified the Bobcats tenacity with seven points, seven rebounds and a fantastic drop step move, within the post.

Last Monday the 7th grade boys basketball team took down Earlville by a final score of 29-10. With this win, the boys improved to a record of 10 wins and 3 losses. Wyatt Hannibal, Evan Cappi, and Connor Knutson each had 7 points while James Havlicek chipped in with 6 points himself. The boys are back in action Wednesday as they take on HBR at home at 4:30.

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team defeated the Lisbon Lions 36 -13, yesterday afternoon. Tristan Reed outscored Lisbon with his fourteen points, while pulling down six rebounds and leading the team in steals with six. Kaden Geers had six points and six rebounds, also. Brady Andrews chipped in with six points and a team tying three assists. Noah Gilbert finished off the night with a basket in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. On Monday, the Bobcats host Earlville at 5:30.

Last night the 7th grade boys basketball team found their way back into the win column, defeating Lisbon 32-25. Wyatt Hannibal led all scorers with 17 points while Evan Cappi had 8. Kellan Howell did a great job running the point and Spencer Wiegman and Connor Knutson played great defense. The Bobcats are back in action Monday at home against Earlville. Reminder: There is no practice after school today.

The 7th grade boys basketball team lost a tough one last night, falling to Newark by a score of 40-13. Wyatt Hannibal played with great effort, diving for loose balls and fighting for every rebound while Evan Cappi gave everything he had defensively. In the 5th quarter Spencer Wiegman, Landon Barry, Eythan Fruit, Liam Orr and Spencer Tripp played with great composure and effort while doing a great job of moving the ball offensively. The boys look to get back on track at home tonight against Lisbon. Make sure you come out and support your Bobcats, we love to see you in the crowd!

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team defeated the Paw Paw Bulldogs 35 - 24. Brady Andrews led the Bobcats with a team high eleven points. Tristan Reed followed closely with ten points and Landon Johnson contributed with eight points. Kaden Geers hauled down twelve rebounds. Jeremy Rominski had six rebounds on the night. Dayton Rogers came up big in the third quarter with an assist and Dane Lenhardt kept the game in check with a three in the third quarter. The boys next game is at rival Newark, on Wednesday.
