The 7th grade Girls Basketball team traveled to Newark on Friday evening, capturing a 27-16 conference win. The Bobcats are now (4-6) on the season. The Bobcats started the game with a 10-0 run, took control on both ends of the court. We had a balanced scoring attack-Kira Barnes 4, Ashley McCoy 8, Majorie Wernseman 2, Cammy Daniels 2, Irene Krueger 6, and Selena Norris 5. Amelia Michels also had 6 blocked shots. The Bobcats have a tough home game versus the Lisbon Lions on Monday. They have their home court advantage, now let’s show them our’s, the BLUE Crew!

On Wednesday evening, the 7th grade Bobcats were able to get back on the winning end of things, with a 16-11 victory over Paw Paw. The Bobcats record is now (3-6) overall and in the conference. The Bobcats were able to hold the Bulldogs scoreless for the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters and did not give up another point until the last minute of the game, such great team defense!!! The balanced Bobcat scoring looked like this: Kira Barnes (4), Ashley McCoy (6), Cammy Daniels (2), Amelia Michels (2). The Bobcats play again on Friday vs. Newark.

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team defeated the Paw Paw Bulldogs by a score of 30 - 7. The Bobcats had balanced scoring throughout the night. Kaydence Eade had eight points. Brooke Bahrey, Destiny Salgado and Avery Charles had six points apiece. Riley Lackey and Ady Werner chipped in with two points. The defense was tenacious with eighteen steals led by Charles and Bahrey with four steals apiece and Emma Rominski had three steals. Eade and Werner led in rebounds with eight boards each. The 7th grade Girls Basketball team battled hard last night against the Indian Creek Timberwolves, though in the end were unable to come back, losing 28-20. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy with 16 points, Cammy Daniels and Amelia Michels with 2 each. Bobcats are currently (2-6) on the season, looking to get back in the win column against Paw Paw at home on Wednesday at 4:30. Thanks for the BLUE CREW support on Monday, it was a fun atmosphere.

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team won a thriller over 2nd place Indian Creek Timberwolves by a score of 26 - 22. Kaydence Eade led the scoring with ten points, while pulling down a game high seven rebounds. Kaydence also made a key fast break layup and was four for four from the free throw line. Destiny Salgado ripped down five rebounds in the contest. Brooke Bahrey scored eight points on backdoor layups and jump shots. Avery Charles and Ady Werner played great defense, disturbing the Timberwolves attack and scoring four points a piece. A special thanks goes out to the Blue Crew for their intensity and giving us a decisive home court advantage. The Bobcats will host Paw Paw on Wednesday night.

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team lost to the unbeaten Serena Huskers by a score of 34 - 4. Junia Johnson and Addy Werner each chipped in with two points. Kaydence Eade cleared ten rebounds in the contest. The Bobcats had trouble in the turnover category but played solid defense in the contest led by Avery Charles with three steals.

The 7th grade Bobcats traveled to Serena on Friday evening for a conference matchup versus the Huskers. After a slow first quarter start the Bobcats picked it up a bit, though lost the turnover margin. The Bobcats lost 20-4, as they were patient to get great shots in the second half though they struggled with their field goal percentage. Ashley McCoy and Cammy Daniels each had two points. The Bobcats are looking to get back on the winning side of things at home, tonight vs. Indian Creek at 4:30. Girls, please be ready for pictures by 3:20.

The 8th Grade Girls lost to the Leland Panthers by a score of 33 - 16, last night, in Junior Ten action. Brooke Bahrey, Avery Charles and Addy Werner each had four points. Kaydence Eade and Riley Lackey chipped in two apiece. Charles and Werner had seven steals combined, in the game. The girls played some spirited defense and moved the ball around well. The backside rebounds by Leland hurt us throughout the contest. The Bobcats travel to the top rated Serena Huskers, on Friday.

The 7th grade Girls Basketball team earned a solid team victory on Wednesday evening over the Leland Panthers. The Bobcats got back in the win column with intense team defense, patient offense and incredible rebounding. The Bobcats had 6 of it's 10 players scoring, including Ashley McCoy 8pts, Cammy Daniels 6 pts, Malorie Wernsman 4, Selena Norris 4, Kira Barnes 2 & Amelia Michels 2. This win brings the Bobcats record to (2-4) overall and in conference. The Bobcats travel to Serena on Friday, then return home on Monday versus Indian Creek. The 7th grade Bobcats traveled to HBR battled through the first quarter and began getting into some foul trouble. The Bobcats lost 29-13, falling to (1-4) on the season. Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy and Cammy Daniels. Sarah W, Alina J, Selena N and Amelia M all chipped in as well. The Bobcats will do better staying out of foul trouble vs Leland, though I appreciate the hustle and continued intensity.

The 7th grade Bobcat Girls Basketball team traveled to Earlville to take on the Red Raiders on Wednesday evening. Somonauk came out with some fire on defense, but just could not capitalize on the offensive end. The Bobcats could not withstand the second quarter barrage from Earlville. The Bobcats ended up losing 22-12, we are now (1-3) overall and in the conference. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy with 10 and Amelia Michels with 2. The 8th Grade Basketball Team was defeated by the Lisbon Lions 21 - 6. The Bobcats couldn't overcome the smallest gym in America. Kaydence Eade, Riley Lackey and Brooke Bahrey had two points apiece. Bella Rolf, Eade and Bahrey each had four rebounds. Bahrey led the team with five steals and four blocks. The Bobcats travel to Earlville on Wednesday night to face the Raiders.

The 7th grade Girls Basketball Bobcats continue to improve over the past two games. We got back to .500 with a win at home Friday evening over Newark 30-8. Bobcats were led in scoring by: Ashley McCoy 12 pts, Cammy Daniels 6 pts and Selena Norris 6 pt. Kira Barnes also had 4 pts and Maya Dalton with 2 pts. Great all around defensive game holding Newark scoreless in both the 2nd and 4th quarter. The Bobcats turned around on Monday with a tough loss at Lisbon, 24-20. At one point the Bobcats were down 18-2 in the first half. Great team defense holding the Lions to 2 points in both the 3rd and 4th quarters. We were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy with 10, Amelia Michels with 6 and then Kira Barnes and Cammy Daniels with 2 each. 7th graders are currently (1-2) in conference and overall. They are at Earlville on Wednesday. Keep on grinding!

The Somonauk Bobcats defeated the Newark Norseman 10 -7 in Junior Ten Conference action. The Bobcats had twenty-six steals on the night. Brooke Bahrey led the Bobcats with eight steals, Destiny Salgado had seven steals and Avery Charles had five steals in the contest. Kaydence Eade led the scoring with four points while pulling down five rebounds. The Bobcats travel tonight to Lisbon.

The Somonauk Bobcats defeated the Paw Paw Bulldogs in the opening night of Junior 10 Conference play by a score of 43 - 14. The Bobcats outscored the Bulldogs 16-0 in the fourth quarter to solidify the victory. The Bobcats had balanced scoring throughout the contest. Brooke Bahrey led all scores with eleven points. Avery Charles had ten points. Junia Johnson and Addy Werner had six points apiece. Bella Rolf and Kaydence Eade chipped in with four points each and Emma Rominski capped it off with a bucket. Eade cleared the boards with twelve rebounds. Werner and Charles led the defense with four steals apiece. Werner, Bahrey and Charles dished out eleven assists combined, in the victory. The Bobcats play rival Newark in our first home game on Friday. Come out and support your Bobcats!

The Somonauk Bobcat 7th grade Girls Basketball team opened up Junior 10 Conference play and their season at Paw Paw on Wednesday evening, falling 22-18 to the Bulldogs. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy with 16 and Malorie Wernsman with 2. The Bobcats had some opening game jitters that were getting worked out by the second half. Other players that spurred the Bobcat's defensive effort were Cammy Daniels and Selena Norris. The Bobcats will have their first home game on Friday against Newark at 4:30 pm. The girls look forward to seeing the support of the BLUE CREW for their games.
