
The 8th Grade Girls Basketball team concluded their season in the Junior Ten tournament with a 34 - 15 loss to the #2 Seed Hinckley-Big Rock Royals. Our team left it all out on the floor but they weren't able to hold off the Royals attack. Kaydence Eade led the Bobcats with eight points, eight rebounds, three steals and three blocks. All of her statistics led the team in those categories. Destiny Salgado chipped in with three points, Brooke Bahrey and Riley Lackey capped off the scoring with a bucket apiece. Bahrey and Avery Charles each had two steals and Salgado pulled down four rebounds. The team as a whole improved immensely as the season went on and will be a solid group for years to come at the high school level.

The 7th grade Girls Basketball Team ended their season on Wednesday evening with a loss to Indian Creek 22-18. The girls played an outstanding game, it was really fun, though disappointed with the result. The best part was the smiles on the faces that this team had in the locker room as they reflected on a successful season together. TEAM matters to these players! We look forward to seeing their continued growth as players through the years. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy 10, Salena Norris 4, Kira Barnes 2 and Amelia Michels 2. The 8th Grade Girls capped off the regular season with a 32 - 27 loss to the Indian Creek Timberwolves. After being down 10-0 from the start the Bobcats came roaring back to take the lead at 19-16, in the 3rd Quarter. Foul trouble and a season high thirty-five turnovers cost the Bobcats a chance of victory on the road. Kaydence Eade and Destiny Salgado led the Bobcats in scoring with eight apiece. The Bobcats defense kept them in the game with twenty-nine steals led by Eade and Avery Charles with eight apiece. Charles and Brooke Bahrey cleared the boards with a team leading eight rebounds each. Ady Werner had three points, while Bahrey, Charles, Riley Lackey, and Junia Johnson each had a bucket. The Bobcats finished the season with a five and eleven record, however they have improved immensely in the past three games.

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team played a thrilling contest versus the undefeated Serena Huskers, on 8th grade recognition night. The Bobcats led the Huskers by two points at half thanks to the full court press. The Bobcats had twenty-three steals in the game but they just couldn't hold off the Huskers and fell by a score of 25 - 19. Kaydence Eade led all scores with nine points including three key free throws down the stretch. Kaydence tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven with Avery Charles. Charles had six points while Destiny Salgado finished off the scoring with four points. Brooke Bahrey and Ady Werner tied for the team lead in steals with five a piece. The Bobcats travel to Waterman today to face the Indian Creek Timberwolves, to finish off regular season play.

The 7th grade Girls Basketball Bobcats lost to a quality Serena team 21-6 on Tuesday evening. Our Bobcats competed on both ends of the court, even winning the second half. Ashley McCoy led the Bobcats with 4 points and Kira Barnes had 2 points. The Bobcats are currently (6-9) overall and in conference. The girls wrap up their 7th grade season with a road game tonight at Indian Creek! GO BOBCATS!

The 7th grade Girls Basketball team beat Leland Friday evening 23-12, moving our record to (6-8) overall and in the conference. The Bobcats played an intense defensive game, holding the Panthers to only two points in the first and third quarters. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy 9, Amelia Michels 6, Irene Krueger 4 and Selena Norris 4. We will play again on Tuesday, our last home game of the year vs. Serena. We look forward to the continued support from friends and family. GO BOBCATS!!

The Eighth Grade Girls Basketball team upset the Leland Panthers by a score of 18 - 11 on Friday. The last time the Bobcats met up with the Panthers they lost by seventeen points. The Bobcats redeemed themselves with the help of the Blue Crew and the full court pressure defense in the second half that stymied the Panthers. The Bobcats had eight different people score in the win led by Ady Werner with five. Bahrey, Salgado, Charles, Lackey, Rominski and Rolf each chipped in with a bucket and Eade made a crucial free throw in the 4th Quarter. The defense caused multiple turnovers for the Panthers with five second counts. Avery Charles had eight steals in the contest. The final home game will be on Tuesday, 28th versus the undefeated Serena Huskers

The 7th and 8th-grade Girls' Basketball games scheduled for Monday, February 27th will be played on Tuesday, February 28th starting at 4:30!


The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team lost to the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals by a score of 27 - 6. Ady Werner, Bella Rolf and Kaydence Eade each chipped in with a bucket. Brooke Bahrey and Werner combined for thirteen rebounds. The girls played fantastic defense throughout the game frustrating the Royals attack. The Bobcats have two remaining home games against Leland and Serena.

The 7th grade Bobcats fell to the HBR Royals on Wednesday evening, 23-8. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy and Selena Norris with 4 pts each. Solid defensive performances from Amelia Michels and Maya Dalton. The Bobcats are (5-8) on the season. The Bobcats have another home game on Friday vs. Leland, we look forward to seeing the BLUE CREW coming out strong to support the Bobcats on Friday night at 4:30. We could really use the home court advantage for both 7th and 8th grade games Friday. Go Bobcats!

The 8th Grade Girls lost a nailbiter to the Earlville Red Raiders by a score of 20 - 17. Ady Werner led the Bobcats in points and rebounds with six points and seven rebounds. Avery Charles had four points and led the team in steals with five. Destiny Salgado had three points, while Brooke Bahrey and Kaydence Eade chipped in with a bucket each.The Bobcats have a week off of games; get back at it in practice and become an offensive threat, for the final stretch run.

The 7th grade Bobcats dropped a close game Wednesday night to Earlville 14-10. The Bobcats played a strong defensive game, though just could not overcome the rebounding advantage that the Red Raiders had over us, which led to second chance points. Defensively, we shut them out in the third quarter, though they had just enough to finish us off. Our Bobcats gave a great effort on both sides of the court. Bobcats were led in scoring by Ashley McCoy 6, Amelia Michels 2 and Selena Norris 2. The Bobcats have a 5-7 overall record, and our next game is on Wednesday February 22 vs. HBR at home, see you there!!!

The 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team were defeated by the Lisbon Lions 23 -12 last night in Junior Ten action. The Bobcats couldn't overcome thirty-eight turnovers in the contest. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Avery Charles with six points and nine steals on the night. Brooke Bahrey chipped in two points and led the team in rebounds with six. Kaydence Eade had four points along with four rebounds. Ady Werner also had four rebounds. The Bobcats host Earlville Wednesday night.

The 7th grade Bobcats won a terrific team effort vs Lisbon at home Monday evening 12-7. This win brings their record to (5-6) overall and in the conference. The Bobcats were led in scoring by Amelia Michels 6, Selena Norris 4, Ashley McCoy 2. Amelia and Selena also led the Bobcats in rebounding also. It was a tremendous team defense game, holding the Lions to only 7 points. Huge shoutout to our two SHUTDOWN defenders, their top scorer in their last game against us had 12 points, last night Kira Barnes and Cammy Daniels held her to two points total. Go Bobcats!!!

The 8th Grade Girls lost on Friday night to Newark by a score of 25 -20. The Bobcats low shooting percentage put us at a disadvantage on the night. Ady Werner led the Bobcats in scoring with six and was tied for the team lead in rebounds with six, along with Kaydence Eade. Eade, Avery Charles and Brooke Bahrey had four points a piece and Destiny Salgado chipped in with a bucket. Avery Charles led the defensive pressure with five steals on the night. The Bobcats host the Lisbon Lions tonight in a redemption game.
